Our Vision Our Voice Project

The "Our Vision, Our Voice" project came from a pressing need: to help visually impaired and blind students navigate the challenges of college life.

Fèach Ireland, a charity I proudly volunteer with, recognised that these students face unique struggles when entering a busy, fast-paced environment like college. From finding their way around to accessing the same learning opportunities as their sighted peers. With backing from sponsors and collaboration, Fèach decided to change that.

The result? A practical guide informed by real experiences of visually impaired students. The guide became a tool not only for current students but for future ones too. It was designed to give colleges—whether it be the disability office or individual lecturers—the knowledge and resources they need to support these students and create a fairer learning experience. It's their vision, their voice, and their story being told.

My role in this was twofold. First, as a social media manager, I developed the campaign strategy, laying out a six-week timeline that brought the project from concept to completion. Then, as a graphic designer, I got to bring the project to life visually. I designed both the digital and print versions of the guide, ensuring the materials were accessible, easy to use, and reflective of the campaign’s brand. Creating the digital guide was especially exciting, with clickable links and interactive features for a seamless experience.

I genuinely enjoyed every step of this project—seeing the impact it would have, knowing it would be a game-changer for students entering college, and knowing I contributed to something meaningful and lasting. This project was a rewarding journey that was eye-opening, educational, and impactful for everyone involved!
